Pipewise gives informational diagnosis and planning guidance only. It is not licensed plumbing, heating or gas engineering advice, and is not a substitute for a qualified professional. Gas and electrical work must be carried out by a registered engineer.

Field notes

Boiler pressure
Falling pressure and cold radiator tops are a common combi pairing — Pipewise splits the safe checks from the boiler work.

Radiator balancing
Cold tops mean trapped air; a cold radiator with hot pipes means balancing. Different fixes, clearly separated.
Safety first
Gas work — boilers, gas fires, flues — must be done by a Gas Safe registered engineer, or the legal equivalent in your country. Electrical work must be done by a qualified electrician. Pipewise output is informational and must never be used as the basis for unqualified gas or electrical work.
If you smell gas, suspect a leak, hear a carbon monoxide alarm, or see a boiler smoking or behaving abnormally: stop, open windows, leave the property and call your local gas emergency line and a registered engineer. Do not rely on this tool in an emergency.
